A pleasant surprise during a Royal Jordanian connection. Hot food options and showers available.
I accessed Plaza Premium Lounge at Queen Alia International via Priority Pass during a four-hour Royal Jordanian connection from London. For a regional hub lounge, it outperformed expectations — hot Arabic and Western dishes, not just sandwiches and instant noodles.
The shower suites are clean and well-stocked with towels and toiletries. Wi-Fi was usable for email but struggled with video calls. Seating is a mix of armchairs and communal tables; during peak connection banks the lounge fills quickly and finding a quiet corner becomes difficult.
Oneworld Emerald members on qualifying Royal Jordanian itineraries also have access, making this a useful stop for BA and Qatar connecting passengers routing through Amman. It will not rival Al Mourjan or a flagship carrier lounge, but it is comfortable and reliable.
If you have Priority Pass through a US credit card (Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, etc.), this lounge is a solid free option during Middle East connections. Budget 45–60 minutes — enough for a hot meal and a shower before your onward flight.
